We Love you J. Hud

My prayers go out to Jennifer Hudson and her family. Please keep them in your thoughts. As you already know, Jennifer's mother and brother we're killed on Friday...The husband of Jennifer's sister, Julia is in custody apparently for parole violation, but unfortunately Julia's son is still missing.

Again, please keep Jennifer in her family in your prayers during this tough time. Also visit jenniferhudsononline.com to leave your condolences for Jennifer.

New Music: Musiq Soulchild ft. Mary J - IfULeave

Musiq premiered his new video today. The song will appear on his fifth album, ON My Radio, due out in December. And if you haven't been under a rock, I'm sure you caught his other track, Radio If not check it out here!!!!!!

BET HIP HOP Awards

So I'm not gonna report on the BET Awards cuz I have better things to do than wonder why Katt Williams got the boot or why Bow Wow had on that ridiculous outfit. But I do have one good thing to say for the day!

This has to be my favorite photo from the BET HHA (minus Rocko). I'm not all hating on Monica's husband?! I love the fact that she has someone special in her life as well as a beautiful family. But in terms of the red carpet, Monica is killing it with her outfit and Louis speedy...she doesn't need the extra man baggage hanging around. And shout out to Mon and her BFF Keyshia Cole for the new do's! Love it!

Beyonce's Newest Efforts

By now I'm sure you've already heard both of Beyonce's new singles "If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies". Sorry Ms. Bey, but you get a big YAWN from me. Sure I know, Beyonce fans will always love her no matter what she comes out with, but I was sure hoping for something better. Hell I'm definitely bumping Solange's hood ass from beginning to end although I didn't even get through the first two minutes of the many If I Were A Boy YouTube videos that have been in my as I've perused some of my favorite sites.

And then there's the whole thing about Beyonce stealing If I Were A Boy from BC Jean. I don't know...really I have no preferance cuz their both garbage. Listen for yourself!

Beyonce Covers Essence

Beyonce's back...well maybe she never left...but in the November issue of Essence magazine, Mrs. Carter breaks the silence on her marriage to Jay-z and addresses the rumors surrounding the possible push back of her still untitled upcoming album.

“…What Jay and I have is real. It’s not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It’s real.”
—Beyoncé tells Essence

9.24.08 Today's Track - Sometimes

Please check out the single Sometimes from R&B artist London. The song has been getting much love lately in Atlanta.

Under the direction of Key Players music and Universal Motown, this Morehouse graduate has worked with well noted producers such as Ne-Yo, Bryan Michael Cox, and Rodney Jerkins, so you know his sh@T, Man of My Word (due out early 2009) is gonna be fyah!

I caught his performance last night at Sugar Hill at the Underground and I was impressed. Also worth a listen, is London's lead singleOne Too Many.

B. Cox's group, Dirty Rose, also stopped by, for a quick cover of Jodeci's Cry For You. Check out their single, All for Love, which has also impacted Atlanta radio lately. Calling themselves the "Next Generation of R&B", Dirty Rose also did their thing last night!

Poprah In her skinny Days

OMG! I just couldn't believe it when I saw this video on Straight from the A. I just had to post.

I cannot believe that Kim took it this far. I mean I thought she might have been a whopper away from being a little thick back in the day, but homegirl was very attractive. Not to say that she is still not attractive, but damn I wonder how long it took her to gain all of that weight.

My guess is she swallowed a couple of humans.

If you saw last week's Episode of I Want to Work for Diddy, I'm sure you caught Kim's sob story about her gaining weight because she got tired of men trying to sleep with her.

I don't know her stress. And I'm sure alot of things can lead to weight gain, but I think the use of the word NO is just as useful as going on a strict Little Debbie diet!

Check her out!

What Are We To Do?

The polls are very close when it comes to McCain and Obama's race to the White House. Voters now have less than two months to make up their minds. It especially seems that many don't find too much promise in either of the candidates. Obama should have stuck with Hillary...Watch some of CNN's latest commentary here...

Pink "So What"

My girl finally has a video. Idk, I kind of miss the Missundaztood Pink, but I guess this version will do!...She cracks me up!

DNC Hits Home!

While gone, I had the opportunity to visit Denver during this week's historic convention. My firm and I produced an event, Celebrating Democratic Women, that was held at the Doubletree Denver on Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Ironically, August 26 happened to be the 31st anniversary of Women's Equality day, declared by President Carter in 1977. This also happened to be the 88th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote with the passing of the 19th amendment in 1920.

The event was fabulous, if I must say so myself. The guests included the honoree, Mrs. Rosalynn Carter, President Carter and number of their family members, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lowery, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Luther King III, Dr. Dorothy Height, Mayor Shirley Franklin, Mrs. Valerie Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Ambassador Andrew Young, and many other influential history makers. Catch a glimpse of our work (covered by WAGA Fox 5) here...

To be involved in such an event that was emceed by Trumpet Awards Founder, Xernona Clayton, was more than a privilege. And the fact that it was women's equality day was mind blowing, especially once Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton took the podium Tuesday night. Even though she has officially turned over her delegates to Senator Obama, Mrs. Clinton has truelly inspired millions of women and girls around the country and the world.

And what about Mrs. Obama? She couldn't have been more poised and beautiful on Monday night. She did her part in framing her husband as the man for the job in 2009. Michelle is great!

With all of the wonderful strides that women and blacks are continuing to make, we can't let these accomplishments fall by the wayside.

Today and Tomorrow, if you don't remember anything else, please remember....We can do anything we set our minds to and that's nothing but the truth. It's time we all started living our dreams!

Get It together

Now I like Solange and all, but girlfriend might be taking this whole seperating herself from Beyonce thing a little too far. Listen as she snaps on a TV reporter, making a fool of herself....

Come on now....

Stand Up To Cancer

I'm loving so many of the songs (and hating others) that are being released these days. They actually talk about something. I think everyone will enjoy this one...
Various Artists - Stand Up To Cancer

"The tune features Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood".
Record exec Antonio "L.A." Reid joined former creative partner Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds to produce the track, which hits radio and iTunes on Sept. 2.
All 15 singers will share the stage to perform the song live on Sept. 5 during the "Stand Up to Cancer" television special, set to air simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS."

Throwback of the Day!

T.I.'s got "Big Things Poppin"

After experiencing my fair share of partying this weekend, I've come to the realization that my boy T.I. is holding back nothing with his recent material. As many already know, the rapper is set to be sentenced in March 2009, and will be ordered to spend a year and a day in prison as long as he fulfills the obligations of his community service and stays out of trouble.

Of course, TIP most definitely has to have these troubles on his mind, but damn, he certainly is coming hard before he has to temporarily say goodbye to freedom.

First off, T.I. is making history (and money) with his latest collabo with Ludacris with whom he once had a well publicized beef. Their new song, Wish You Would, has been long awaited but was "bound to happen, sooner or later," Ludacris said.

The track will be featured on Luda's upcoming album, Theater of Mind, to be released on October 21.

And with his recent videos Whatever You Like, No Matter What and the club bangers, What's Up, What's Haapnin, Swing Ya Rag or even his verse on Yung LA's Aint I, released this spring, TIP is making it known that he plans to go nowhere before or even after he handles his business. I see ya...make it happen for Tiny and the kids!!

Watch ya boy in action in Whatever You Like...

RIP Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes

This weekend we lost two great and respected Black men, Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes. One an Original King of Comedy and wonderful family man and the other a powerful singer and icon. These two touched the hearts of people around the world. Bernie Mac with the power of laughter and realism and Hayes with many talents including his soulful and distinct voice.

"Bernie Mac, the actor and comedian who teamed up in the casino heist caper "Ocean's Eleven" and gained a prestigious Peabody Award for his sitcom "The Bernie Mac Show," died Saturday at age 50.

Bernie Mac, 50, was nominated for a Grammy for "The Original Kings of Comedy.

"Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles.

The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.

Mac's brand of comedy caught flak when he was heckled during a surprise appearance at a July fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate and fellow Chicagoan Barack Obama..." read the full story from CNN

"Isaac Hayes — a legendary soul singer, songwriter, musician and producer whose career spanned four decades and who achieved unexpected fame later in life as the voice of "South Park" character Chef — died Sunday afternoon (August 10), a spokesperson for the Shelby County, Tennesee, sheriff's department told WMC-TV in Memphis.

Hayes' wife found him on the floor near a treadmill inside his home, according to the station's Web site. Hayes was taken to Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08 p.m.

Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department are continuing their investigation into Hayes' death, but they believe no foul play was involved, the report said. Hayes was 65.

Born in Covington, Tennessee, in 1942, Hayes was a key figure in the development of the 1960s Southern soul sound before going on to a successful solo career.

He made his public singing debut in church at the age of 5, and taught himself piano and saxophone before relocating to Memphis and performing with groups there, according to All-Music Guide." Read the full story

My prayers go out to both of their families and friends. Bernie and Isaac, you will truely be missed.

Lloyd: Lessons in Love

Lloyd's album drops tomorrow, August 5..

I must say it's a pretty good follow up to his sophomore effort, Streetlove, which I'm still listening too. Listen for yourself.

Lloyd - Lessons in Love

Women and Relationships

So I just happened to randomly run across a blog called Relationships on blog-city.com. A user recently posted a list of six mistakes that women make in relationships. I read the list and started to think. Do I make some of these mistakes? And then I thought, it's sad but I probably do. So just food for thought for all of the women and men out there, why do we make the mistakes listed below? And are these mistakes accurate?

"Six Biggest Mistakes Women Make with Men

1. Women act like mothers and treat men like children.

2. Women sacrifice who they are and put themselves second in importance to the man they're attracted to.

3. Women are attracted to a man’s potential.

4. Women cover up their excellence and competence.

5. Women give up their power.

6. Women act like little girls to get what they want from a man."

Solangel Addresses the Haters

If at all possible, please add Solange's newest track to your current playlist, Fuck the Industry (Signed Sincerely) from her upcoming mixtape, I Can't Get Clearance . The song covers Kanye West's Everything I Am. This proud mommy is definitely making statements these days. I think she might have had enough with the Beyonce questions by now.

But if you haven't already seen Solange featured on the cover summer issue of Rap-Up Magazine along with Keri Hilson and Teyana Taylor please check it out.

A 15-year old kills brother over video game

See this is why kids need to stick to riding bikes and playing on the monkey bars. In a CBS report on July 31, a 15-year old boy stabbed and killed his older brother over a Madden game. That's sad.

MC and Jeezy perform Side Effects

Man, Side Effects is my shizznit. I don't know if anyone else agrees, but whenever I listen to E=MC2, I always bump this song. The lyrics are so real and very relevant. Although MC sounds terrible as usual, check her and Jeezy out as they perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Black in America

Check out this page to see previews on the upcoming CNN Special BLACK IN AMERICA. The special report will air July 23 & 24 at 9pm. As Obama races towards the white house, a lot of light is being shed on what its like to be black in America. Believe it or not I'm sure there's plenty of folks ready to resist change. And it's us too...don't know what's going on with Jesse Jackson these days. Newho, this is definitely a program that any and everybody should tune in to.

Project Runway is back

For all you fashion lovers who are still paying attention to Bravo's Project Runway, Season Five starts this Wednesday at 9 p.m./8 p.m. central. The hit show is back with 16 new contestants who will be fighting for the prize of $100,000, an editorial feature in Elle Magazine, a chance to sell their line on bluefly.com, and a 2008 Saturn Astra. Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia of Elle Magazine, and of course the fabulous Tim Gunn are back for the latest season. You don't want to miss it!

Rocsi leaving 106 & Park

Earlier this week Rocsi walked off the set of 106 and Park leaving Terrence to finish the show. After insulting her for more than a couple of minutes, Rocsi clearly got fed up with his comments. He said she couldn't read, her breath stank, and asked why should couldn't have a body more like Ciara's. Some people just don't know how to let something go. The girl messed up an email address and he kept on going. People like that can work your nerves. Could this be the end of her run on the show? Check out the episode on video to see Terrance acting like a damn nuisance.

Luckie wasn't so Lucky this week

Ok, so I must say that I have just about overdosed on Luckie Lounge this summer, but I can't help myself. Last Night, Wed, July 9, Deon Grant and T.I. hosted a party that was clearly supposed to jump. But the night was cut short by a fight that lasted so long that everyone in the club could have gotten a lick in on the red shirted guy on the floor. And that grey goose bottle going across someone else's head sure looked painful. Security handled the event, but not as quickly as usual, and then the night turned into a mess, but I'm sure Wednesday's at Luckie will still be a hit in the A!

Too white?

According to TMZ.com, John Mayer thinks he's officially too white to collaborate with one of the best bands around, The Roots. source

This isn't much of a post, but I sure would like to see this happen, hell he got down with A.Keys, what's the problem.

Well he won't be MR. Cole

In the August issue of Vibe Magazine, Young Jeezy discusses his past relationship with songstress, Keyshia Cole. He claims she asked him to marry her, but he turned her down. She even offered to buy the ring! HA. Jeezy also talks him about his run in with John McCain. But I don't know, Jeezy has been the only one name dropping, not Keyshia. I have yet to hear him mentioned or see him making a cameo on the 'Way It Is' lol. So when will we find out the real truth?

Baldwin Hills

As if anyone cares...but the season launch of Baldwin Hills is tonight at 10 on BET. From what I've already seen from these washed up teenagers, the drama is still continuing in the 'Black Beverly Hills'. I must admit that I never paid this show any attention, but after watching the last season that KEEPS airing on BET, I guess the clearly scripted show isn't that bad.

I Need You Bad

Plz check out the new video by Jazmine Sullivan, "Need You Bad" with Missy Elliot. This has got to be one of the best songs of the summer. Sullivan has often been compared to Lauryn Hill and I can see why. Her voice is great.

The Weekend of Willy

What are your thoughts on Will Smith's latest, Hancock??? I haven't heard much rave of this new film, but I'm sure that the weekend box office numbers will show that Big Willy's fans will still support his work no matter how painful!

Festivities for the Fourth

If you're not planning on attending any of the festivities in ATL this weekend, you're definitely missing out!

Judging by the crowd that came out to the Velvet Room last night, you might want to make sure that you're in the mix for one of the biggest holidays of the year.

Don't miss the many places that fireworks will be lighting the sky tonight, including Decatur Square and Centennial Olympic Park

I hear that Polow Da Don & Bu's 4th of July All White Affair might be the place to be on Saturday July 5th. This event is being held at the acclaimed hottest new spot on Peachtree St, The Artistry. (842 Peachtree St)

Also jumping off on Saturday is Club Miami (Buford Hwy). A grown up Chris Brown is expected to be in the building. If you're not planning on clubbing, definitely check him out at Chastain Park tonight at 7 p.m..

And on Sunday, Unforgettable Sundays is being hosted at Scores Sports Bar. And Ladies are free until 12.

So roam free, the weekend has just begun!

Sex hits the City one more time

I can't tell you how excited I am for the Sex and the City movie to hit theaters on May 30. That's right. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda, are making their way to the big screen four years after their HBO series ended. And this time Carrie is headed to the alter. I'm sure there will be twists and turns along the way though. And for all those fans speculating about the actual plot of the film, I guess we will have to just wait and see what happens in the lives of our favorite city gals.

MC again and again

Since I recently wrote about the debut of Mariah's new album E=MC2, I figured I'd stay on the same topic this time around. What's going on with Mariah and her rumored marriage to Nick Cannon? The two who have been dating for one month supposedly got married at the end of April. And sources say that the couple did file a prenup...Thank God for Mariah. The diva, who was divorced in the mid 90s, surely needed one.

But how long will this marriage last. My thoughts?...They're no Beyonce and Jay-Z that's for sure.

You gotta see this....

Wtf?? Some people are so stupid. A man was recently arrested after he tried to cash a check for $360,000,000,000. He was a black man, I must add. He claimed that he received the check for $36 BILLION from his girfriend's mother. She supposedly gave him the money so he could start a record label. Ha...I've heard better excuses!

I don't know if Perez Hilton is a credible source, but this story sure is funny!

Rebates, REBATES!!!!!

Your check could already be in the bank if you received your original tax return through direct deposit. Checks began going out this Monday, sooner than what had been previously expected.
These rebate checks are said to be helping consumers with rising food and gasoline prices, in the least. President Bush also hopes that these checks will help boost the falling economy!

But what will these checks really change? Some say, rebate checks could cause consumers to go on a spending spree. I would hope that those receiving checks will use them wisely. I know I would considering that the money was rightfully mine to begin with.

The rebates — up to $600 for an individual, $1,200 for a couple and an additional $300 for each dependent child — are the centerpiece of the government’s $168 billion stimulus package, enacted in February. Roughly 130 million households are expected to get them. (Detroit Free Press)

Hill's at it again...

Senator Hillary Clinton's victory in the Pennsylvania primary yesterday has her moving even closer to her opponent Sen. Barack Obama. But will her win in Pennsylvania be enough to win her party's nomination even if she grabs the majority of delegates from North Carolina and Indiana on Tuesday, May 6?

The odds say Hill's efforts just won't cut it, but hey there's still hope...I'm still stuck on her tales of adventures in Bosnia...ha!

You might as well WALK

Gas prices are at an all time high and show no signs on decreasing. What gives? Gasoline has surpassed $3.50 per gallon as national average, this is said to be a 23 percent increase from a year ago. With prices expected to reach $4.00 by this summer, consumers are now being forced to consider alternative modes of transportation. The problem is that gas is one of those necessities where its price can't be negotiated by everyday citizens.

Everyday the gas prices jump a couple of cents, which is plan ridiculous. What can be done to stop this madness?
Oil now costs $117.48 a barrel and the economy shows no signs of reacting favorably to this change. The costs of living continues to rise, while more money is spent on items such as gas, food, health care to name a few. At this point I'm considering purchasing a bike, a skateboard...hell I don't even know how to skate, but it's sure worth a try....

SpringTIME for fashion

We're well into spring and what better way to kick of the season than picking up the latest trends in fashion. From loose fitting dresses, girly patterns, embellished sandals, vibrant nail colors, and denim in a variety of colors, you can't go wrong. The hippy revival has definitely made its way to spring fashion,as well.

And if you can't afford expensive handbags, lavish floral dresses, and accessories galore, mixing and matching old and new items in your closet can be a big fashion do. Don't worry about being too matchy this spring either. There are so many ways to dress to impress with simple patterns, a cute pair of flats or strappy sandals, a hot pair of sunglasses, and a relaxed bottom. Seal these with a winning attitude and you're good to go....

18-month-old getting high????

What is wrong with teenagers these days??? Forcing a toddler to smoke marijuana from a pipe? That is so wrong. These two kids need help, especially for filming the occurence. Have mercy on them!

Mariah Carey: Still Goin Strong

Since the early 90's, Mariah Carey has been blowing up the billboard pop and r&b charts with continuous hits after hits. On Tuesday, the singer, songwriter released her newest album E=MC2. The follow up to her smash 2005 album, The Emancipation of Mimi, the album is expected to debut at number one and sell more than 500,000 copies in its first week.

Does the diva still have it? According to fans, she does. Mariah recently tied the Beatles' all-time record of 20 #hits. After the massive success of The Emancipation, the superstar surely has the potential to produce even more chart topping hits. Mariah is definitely still going strong after all these years.

After listening to the album several times, I'm impressed but its not The Emancipation. I can say that there are definitely more singles available on this album, though. Nevertheless, the album is an easy listen all the way through. Listen for yourself...

Pregnant Man...Whoa :o)

Have you seen the pregnant man that was featured on Oprah this week??? A transgender man recently went public with his pregnancy. The six month pregnant former beauty queen was told Oprah that he always wanted to conceive.

Thomas Beatie, 34, who lives in Oregon, kept his reproductive organs after he began taking testosterone and had his breast removed.

Beatie's wife Nancy inseminated him with a syringe using sperm purchased from a bank. That's just weird!

The couple also considers this a miracle and says that their roles will not change once the baby is born. The Beatie's have been married for five years and Nancy has two children from a previous marriage.

There's an imposter on facebook

Really, there are probably thousands. A recent security lapse allowed several strangers to log onto facebook and access private photos and personal information. This has caused the site owners to upgrade their security to prevent future mishaps.

The popular gathering place for over 67 million people, said that they are continuing to make changes to the site's security settings. A computer technician gave the website the heads up after he accessed strangers' pictures even though their security settings were probably high.

This should remind facebook users to use caution when posting information online for others to peruse. You never know who can access your personal documents. Whether it be schoolmates, family members, instructors, and even future employers, young people need to watch the things they post on the internet.

Even when websites promise to keep personal information private, hackers find loopholes....so watch out!

In case you missed it...

....If you didn't catch The Hills Premiere Party stay tuned to MTV for endless reruns
....and for Mimi's slack performance

...The two hour season finale of Making the Band 4 aired on Sunday. The bands finish their albums and Donnie anticipates the release of his first single...reruns on MTV as well

...Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew has two contestants left, Status Quo and JabbawockeeZ

....Check online for last night's episode of How I Met Your Mother featuring Britney Spears (perhaps a comeback?)

....Dancing With the Stars made its way back to ABC

....Check out Oprah's Big Give Sundays on ABC at 9/8c

....American Idol's still going strong with the Top Ten performing tonight

This sh$! is Bananas

Several surprises hit Atlanta this weekend as a number buildings were damaged and people injured in an expected tornado. The southeastern U.S. was and is still on watch for several tornadoes to hit the region for the next couple of days.

In Atlanta, a tornado struck the Omni Hotel, the Georgia Dome, the Georgia World Congress Center, and several other sites that held hundreds of people at the time. The Congress Center looked as if it housed a waterfall after being flooded Friday night.

As citizens and visitors hit the city streets to celebrate St. Patty's day, many were unhappy to see their party come to an halt after the weather took a unexpected turn.

Several cities outside of the metropolitan area and as far south as Savannah, Ga, experienced blackouts for hours at a time. The strong winds and the lightning filled sky had people searching for cover all weekend. At least two people were killed in Georgia this weekend.

Who really would have thought? Atlanta? Mother Nature's wrath has no boundaries, i guess...

Check out the photos. Click here

Cellular Spending

Sooo I just purchased the BlackJack II...and I love it...there's just this one thing. There is this so called unlimited Internet and text messaging package. And guess how much it is. Fifty big ones. And that doesn't even include the voice package. With a new phone comes new bills, I have seen. And I don't think I've ever paid over $30 for my home internet. But what does a 21-year-old really need with Windows Mobile, Cellular Video & TV, and a bunch of other programs that are too hard to navigate. I guess its all in the name of some very important aspects of life...coolness, convenience, and chicness! The things we do with money.......

Rippin the Runway

Now I know I been on this entertainment kick lately, but I just can't resist. On Wednesday, the season finale of Project Runway airs. The top three designers of the season, Christian, Jillian and Rami will battle it out at New Work Fashion Week for the title of winner.

Personally, my money is on Christian because he knows FIERCE and it shows. "I've seen some fierce bitches up in my life," Christian said in a past episode. Christian does have some stiff competition though in Jillian, a designer and illustrator for Ralph Lauren. While Christian's designs appear to be more fashion forward, Jillian's precision and attention to detail could help her bring home the competition.

Then there's Jerusalem, West Bank born Rami whose dramatic aesthetic has often been criticized by judges, Nina Garcia, Heidi Klum, and Michael Kors. I wouldn't count Rami out either. His experience with vintage and formal design and veteran experiences with runway shows and dressing celebrities makes him a true threat.

This is really the first time, I've been sure but realistic in my take on the competition. For all you fashionistas and designers out there the season is coming to an end. "Watch What Happens" as the people at Bravo would say!

The Return of LC and Gang

If you're anybody...You'll be watching MTV's The Hills pick up its latest season later this month. The REAL (lol) life drama, will pick up where we last saw Lauren Conrad and her peer, turned boss travel to Paris. Now that the pair has returned to L.A., sparks fly as Heidi Montag makes her way back into Lauren's life and into the apartment they once shared. Personally, I can't wait to see the smoking hot Brody back on the small screen but apparently everything has changed with he and LC's relationships as well as with the other existing relationships that are portrayed on the show. What will happen with Audrina and Justin Bobby? Heidi and Spencer? and even Evil Spencer's sister. Click here to see more....

I even hear that Mimi a.k.a Ms. Carey will be performing at MTV's premiere party for the hit show. Hmmm....sounds interesting!

Obama...Osama...Something like that?

What does this photo say to you? A desperate attempt by the Clinton camp maybe? Or an underqualified presidential candidate? Whats the difference between the Somalian garment pictured and the beloved George W. prancing around in a Scottish kilt? I'm not endorsing a candidate, but Give me a break here...

I have a headache...

...and I haven't even made it official yet. I am talking about relationships, or in this instance you could call it the lack of one. I just don't understand why some folks are so freakin difficult. I mean I'm not like a Nazi or anything when it comes to males, but sometimes I just want to be left alone when it comes to the silly little games. And I'm not at all the 'oh I really need to be in a relationship' type, so why the hassle when I'm just chillin (as the cool ppl would say)?

It's crazy...A guy once told me that I didn't care enough...that is after my numerous and shameful attempts to court someone that had previously and aggressively (I might add) approached me went down the drain. I mean I was just doing what any self-respecting woman would do. Taking actions for what they're worth and moving right along. At this point, I think I know compatibility when I see it.

So what do you do when your constantly confronted with the fact that you're just hanging around for the mean time, allowing someone to slightly get on your nerves with questions you don't feel like answering and the attitude that you could do without? What do you do when you know someone is full of you know what, but they keep harassing you about what you're doing?

I don't know if the spooning was good (lol!) or maybe some fellas just really need the attention, ONLY WHEN THEY WANT IT, of course. But, here's my remedy...

Take two Tylenol and call someone else in the morning....sheesh!

The Cool...literally

So I can't get enough of Lupe Fiasco's sophomore album The Cool. With motivating lyrics and songs of substance, Fiasco easily makes his mark on the music world. One cannot deny the lyrical genius that comes with this album. Songs like Dumb it Down separate this artist from other rappers who crowd the airwaves with the same tired rhymes. Fiasco brings a record that can be argued as one of the best since the Tupac and Biggie era.

The album is truly a journey. From the even deeper Intruder Alert, The Cool takes you there. The variation of topics makes this a great yet easy listen from beginning to end. Take a chance on this instant classic, ASAP...

February, Black History Month?

As we salute those before us who sacrificed their lives for a better America, let us not do it in vain.

This year is definitely evolving historically, but with evolution chaos still exists. I attended a moving speech by Dr. Cornell West about a month ago. The crowd was young, many of them sporting the "g-strings" and "bling bling", as West put it. And I wonder who is still reflecting on the message.

...The message of moving towards the future

...The message of living through great legacies

...The message of respecting ourselves, our minds, our brothers and sisters

...The message of setting an example

...The message of fighting racism, suppression, and discrimination with intellect.

...Just think if we actually lived in a world with a modern day martin, malcolm, garvey, etc., for that matter...would this somehow relate to Mr. Obama?

Britney...Enough Already

Now admit it. We all have stopped dead in our tracks at some point to read or hear something about the Britney saga. Now that this story continues to unfold I have found myself backing away. Okay, Brit has lost her children indefinitely, looked and dressed beyond wacky, and yes she has had a drug problem, but honestly I would like to see something else come out of entertainment news.

I feel sorry for her sometimes because I just can't figure out why she's still losing it, but I guess it was a long time coming. And its sad that K-Fed has the support of not only the court, but Brit's mom. Poor mom, those Spear's girls surely have taken Mrs. Lynn for a ride in 2008 alone.

And after Britney's sour MTV Video Music Awards performance last August, the girl just hasn't looked the same. But with upcoming court dates and treatment, maybe things will look up for the fallen pop star. Will she ever recover is the question.

Are we really in a recession?

So I've been hearing talks of a recession lately. Some believe we have been there for a while. In the several years after 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina it seems the economy hasn't been the same. Experts even predict that this slowdown could turn into the worst recession we have seen since 1982. With upcoming elections many will look to future leaders' economic plans for some relief in saving our economy.

Gas prices keep rising, investments are suffering, and the value of the dollar is falling. So what do we do now? Keep waiting on 2008 to unfold. Hopefully consumer spending will rise, more money will be invested into inexpensive stocks, the real estate market will improve and so many other factors will help us get over this slight hump.

Music's Biggest Night is Here

The 50th annual Grammy Awards started off with a bang. Alicia Keys opened the show with a classic duet with music great Frank Sinatra. Following the opening number, last year's Best New Artist Carrie Underwood performed her smash hit, "Before He Cheats."

Other performers have been first time winner Rihanna with her chartopper, "Umbrella." The pop princess shared the stage with 80's group, The Time, who reunited on stage tonight after 15 years.

The show is a hit so far, with many of music's major players such Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, and Amy Winehouse taking home trophies early on.

There has been much talk about Winehouse's inability to make an appearance at the Grammy's due to visa complications. Being kept in London hasn't stopped the talented singer and songwriter from winning five awards. With off beat moves and an array of facial expressions, Winehouse performed her hits "Trouble" and "Rehab", via sattelite.

West also took home four Grammy's so far. The superstar, who has not kept secret in past years that he deserved the coveted award, is now earning much praise after a triumphant yet unfortunate year. West, who lost his mother Donda West in 2007, performed "Stronger" off his latest album, "Graduation" and "Hey Mama" from 2005's "Late Registration. The latter, was written for his late mother.

Aside from West and Winehouse, the Grammy Awards was full of fashion hits and misses on the red carpet. Several of the stars including Rihanna, Ludacris, Nelly Furtado, and Fergie rocked the Grammy's with great style. Others including Fantasia, Brooke Hogan and Cyndi Lauper didn't quite get the memo that it's 2008.

The Grammy's has also been a stage for a great variety of fashion. Some do glitz and glamour, some rock and roll, and some subtle and sassy....you gotta love it.

Other winners of the night include Mary. J Blige, The Foo Fighters, Maroon 5, Bruce Springsteen, and even Sen. Barack Obama. Obama the award for best spoken word album for his book, "The Audacity Of Hope: Thoughts On Reclaiming The American Dream."
